Everything You Need To Know About Extrusion Blow Moulding Machine

An extrusion blow moulding machine is a device used to manufacture plastic products. It heats and melts plastic pellets or granulated raw materials, and produces various plastic products, such as roadblocks and piles, through the process of extrusion and blow molding. Yard barrels, chemical barrels, hollow toys, etc. This article will tell you some important information about extrusion blow moulding machines.

Extrusion Blow Moulding Process Steps

Raw Material:

The raw materials commonly used by extrusion blow molding machines include plastic particles such as PE/PP/PC/PA/PS/ABS/EVA. Different raw materials and formulas can produce products with different properties.

Extrusion Process:

The key part of the extrusion blow molding machine is the extruder. Plastic raw materials are added to the feed port of the extruder in the form of granules or pellets. After the raw materials enter the extruder at the feeding port, the screw pushes the raw materials inside, and at the same time, the raw materials are heated by the heating element to gradually melt them. The molten plastic is pushed through the screw to the extrusion head of the extruder. The shape and size of the extrusion head determines the shape of the final product.

Blow Molding Process:

The molten plastic is extruded from the die and passed through the inside of the metal rod. At the same time, high-pressure air is injected into the plastic through the metal rod, causing it to expand, fill the cavity of the die, and take on the desired hollow shape. This process usually involves two mold halves on either side of the die, which are brought together and secured to maintain the desired shape. During the blow molding process, the plastic product needs to be cooled to ensure it solidifies. Typically, cooling is accomplished via an external fan or cooling system. The product needs to remain in the cooling area for a period of time until it hardens enough to maintain its shape.

Cooling and Cutting:

After the products are formed, they need to go through a cooling process, usually using cooling water or air cooling systems. The product is then cut, folded or rolled to achieve its final form.

Product Range:

Extrusion blow molding machines are widely used to produce various plastic products, including roadblocks, stacking barrels, chemical barrels, single and double ring barrels, mannequins, ton barrels, dairy bottles, wine bottles, pesticide packaging, oil bottles, and shower and shampoo bottles wait. These products are widely used in various industries, such as food packaging, medical devices, etc.

Control System:

Extrusion blow molding machines are usually equipped with advanced control systems that can accurately control parameters such as temperature, extrusion speed, die shape and pressure to ensure product quality and consistency.

Maiwei’s blow molding machine operating interface is from Siemens. The human-machine interface monitors the operating screen to display parameter settings, fault information, and machine status in the form of graphics and text. The operator can set, store, and retrieve parameters according to the product.

Extrusion System:

The screw material of Maiwei blow molding machine is made of 38Cr, and the screw edge is spray-welded with nickel-based + 10% carbon compound alloy; it is adjusted to qualitative, alloy, and nitriding. Polishing and other processing techniques, hardness: HRC58-62, alloy thickness: ≥2, brittleness ≤ first level, surface roughness: Ra: 0.4um.

Diehead System:

Maiwei Machinery has single-layer die heads, double-layer die heads, outer center-feed double-layer liquid level line die heads, three-die heads, four-die heads, eight-die heads, three-layer, four-layer, five-layer, and six-layer die head.

Customization Capabilities:

Maiwei extrusion blow molding machine supports customization, and the configuration and parameters of the production line can be adjusted according to production needs to produce products of different shapes and sizes. It has a wide range of applications and can increase or decrease the air source system according to user needs. It has strong flexibility and low energy consumption, bringing higher benefits to customers.

Environmental Considerations:

In the context of growing concerns about plastic pollution, some extrusion blow molding machine manufacturers are committed to developing more environmentally friendly materials and production methods to reduce adverse impacts on the environment.
Extrusion blow moulding play an important role in modern plastic manufacturing. They can efficiently produce a variety of plastic products to meet the needs of different industries. These machines have undergone continuous improvements in design, control and material selection to improve production efficiency and product quality.
